Sandra Hauser: 1 Split Second

11 May–13 July 2024

Sandra Hauser, a horse whisperer since childhood, is an interdisciplinary artist who emphasizes the creative process. Her work spans drawing, painting, film, performance, and installation, radically exploring the intersection of political realities, fiction, and her own fantasies.

“1 Split Second” marks her first solo exhibition in France at La Traverse, turning towards mounds of ropes found near her residence in a docu-fiction style. She highlights themes such as resilience, life beyond conventions, freedom, trust, and the profound connection the artist has with her horse, Don Oréo, who inspired her move to the semi-rural, semi-industrial environment of Istres.

“1 Split Second” evokes those fleeting yet critical moments that have the power to significantly alter the course of our lives.
