On the occasion of Art Brussels we are pleased to be part of its OFF Programme with a solo exhibition by Valerie Snobeck at Brasserie Atlas.
Valerie Snobeck’s exhibition reflects our culture's concerns and obsessions with environmental policy. She focuses on the framework that has built organizations such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., distilling the metaphysical anxieties of environmental responsibility into human scale artworks. Snobeck dissolves boundaries of distance between the body and the architecture built to shelter and isolate bodies from their surroundings. Shifts in the accessibility and permeability of these structures create a potential for lucid contemplation and a visionary breakthrough.
Valerie Snobeck presents a series of works conceived during her residency at Atelier Calder (Saché, 2018) and shown at Consortium museum (Dijon, 2018) as well as new productions (2019).
